The MRGB AHEC promotes health literacy and healthy lifestyle initiatives in the region by working with local community partners in sponsoring and supporting health fairs and community health education activities. The MRGB AHEC collaborates with the other five community-based South Texas AHEC Centers on regional projects in support of health promotion and disease prevention.
The MRGB AHEC staff, on a regular basis, organizes, hosts, and offers educational fairs on topics of interest to the community at large. Community members welcome the information and education offered at these events that are geared to a variety of groups. Below is a brief list showing some of the events offered:

Community Outreach
Staff and student volunteers participate in various projects throughout the community to strengthen the network and create new learning opportunities. All projects supported by the staff meet the mission and goals of MRGBAHEC.
